Terms of service

These terms of service govern your use of the Cognatum website.

[Draft for legal review. Not final until counsel signs off. Tracked in MANUAL-GATES.md.]

The site is informational: it describes our software, publishes writing on governed knowledge, and lets you request a demo or contact us. By using the site you accept these terms. If you are entering an agreement to use the Cognatum product itself, that agreement governs the product, and these terms govern only the website.

Informational content only

The content on this site, including material on ISO 30401, the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, and industry regulation, is provided for general information. It is not legal, compliance, or regulatory advice, and it is not a representation that any product satisfies any legal or regulatory obligation on your behalf. Responsibility for your organization's compliance rests with your organization; consult your own advisers.

Intellectual property

The site and its content, text, graphics, diagrams, and page design, are owned by Cognatum or its licensors and protected by intellectual property law. The Cognatum name is a trademark of [COMPANY LEGAL NAME]. You may view, link to, and quote briefly from the site with attribution. You may not republish substantial portions, present our content as your own, or use our name or branding in a way that implies endorsement, without written permission. Third-party names and marks that appear on this site belong to their respective owners, and references to them do not imply affiliation or endorsement.

Acceptable use

You agree not to interfere with the operation of the site, attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or data, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation in a submission. Security research is welcome through the coordinated disclosure process described in our security.txt file.

Submissions

Information you submit through forms must be accurate. Submitting a form does not create a customer, partner, or confidential relationship, and you should not send confidential information through this site. Our handling of personal information submitted through forms is described in the privacy policy.

No warranties

The site is provided as is and as available. We work to keep the content accurate and current, but we make no warranty of any kind, express or implied, about the site or its content, including accuracy, completeness, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Content may change or be removed without notice.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cognatum is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW], without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes arising from them are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [GOVERNING LAW].

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the current version is always posted here with its effective date, and continued use of the site after a change is acceptance of the revised terms. Questions about these terms: hello@cognatum.ai. Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE].
